About Honokaa

Located in an off-the-beaten-path spot on the northeast part of the Big Island, Honoka'a is an historic and charming little town. If it weren't for being on the out-and-back drive to the Waipio Valley Lookout, most folks would not get to see Honoka'a. Its picturesque main street has shops and restaurants that make it ideal for spending some time strolling around. Even though Waipio (the lookout and the beach) is worth the hype, it's not the only beach access in the area. Laupahoehoe Beach Park is south by about 20 minutes and is worth finding for the gorgeous scenery and the mournful history. Consider taking a day on your trip to visit the Honoka'a area and discover its charm.
