About Hale Halawai Beach Park on Kona & West Island, Hawaii

Hale Halawai Beach Park is a grass park with shoreline access on the waterfront in Kailua-Kona. There is no sandy beach here, but if you like tidepools and exploring a lava shoreline, this could be a satisfying stop for you. It also has a large grass lawn and is a popular place to watch sunsets.

You’ll find Hale Halawai on Alii Drive just south of Kailua Bay. It’s located across from the Kona Farmers Market which is convenient for shopping and for parking. There are paid and free parking lots on Hualalai Road next to the farmers market. Many shops and restaurants are on both sides of Hale Halawai Park in the Kona Oceanside Gallery Building and Kona Inn Shopping Village.

The park’s hours are 7am to 11pm. Alcohol and tobacco use are not allowed at Hale Halawai Park.
